keen on green

Alligence and the environment
Even though Alligence is a relatively small company, we try to have a keen eye for the environment. For a number of years now we have resorted to some practical solutions to recycling and minimising the amount of waste produced. “Reduce, reuse and recycle” is a reference within the company. In accordance with the law, the company’s waste is being sorted for easier treatment and recycling. But, of course, we go beyond the mere necessary.

Paper and printing
One of the biggest issues at Alligence is the waste paper management. Paper that has been printed on is reused for taking notes, sketching, scribbling and jotting. Used paper is collected and recycled. Printers and copiers used sport the Energy Star logo and meet the environmentally stringent requirements that go with it. Whenever possible we try to make black-and-white prints instead of the more toner consuming colour prints. Toner cartridges are consistently being recycled.

Digital does it
In trying to create a highly paperless office, Alligence relies heavily on its digital back office. Planning, internal communication, agendas, checking and reviewing of concepts and creations is all done via an extensive intranet that reduces the amount of paper waste to a minimum.

Printing and printed matter
Since Alligence creates what we call Surround Communication, which involves quite a lot of printed matter, we make sure that the printing companies we work with are being selected on their use of environmentally (chlorine free) friendly paper and inks. Delivery of finished printed matter is being centralised as much as possible to reduce transport.

Back and forth
Alligence sports company bicycles that are available to everybody and being used for the commute between home and work. When the weather is a bit too Belgian, two car pool projects make the commute of employees that live closely together more fun and more environmentally friendly. Since the company has been involved with Mobility week and Green week for the last few years, an active co-operation with great results has been achieved each year.

Plastic bottles and cans
At Alligence bottled water is available for free, canned drinks are to be bought from a vending machine. Both recipients are being collected separately for recycling.

Common ground for prosperity and equal opportunities.
