Not a word wasted
For the fifth time in a row, the European Commission’s Directorate General for the Environment selected Alligence to develop its communication activities for Green Week 2008, from 3 June to 6 June in Brussels. Alligence designed the new website and managed all content to ensure on-time updates and sound information to the site’s visitors. And there was more, like the design of streaming web pages, proof-reading, resizing of images, and conversion of videos into Flash. Instead of merely putting in ‘ready-made’ content, we checked and re-checked all that was to be put online as to deliver the ultimate support for Green Week 2008 without a word being wasted.
Clear and present identity
Alligence came up with an attractive and user-friendly website for Green Week 2008. In choosing the image of the website we opted to depict vibrantly coloured natural scenes that underline the beauty of nature. Together with the green colour of the Green Week logo they made a perfect match. Again, we chose to re-utilise this imagery consistently throughout the website of Green Week 2008. This approach maximised recognition and created a big impact.
As usual, the website contained the Green Week Daily section with updates on all four days, as well as the Green Week Live section with live streaming videos from different sessions. Furthermore, Alligence created daily picture galleries and a customized flash player to fit into the visual identity. It allowed all interested parties to keep abreast of the latest news and topics, and also served as a reservations and communications channel.
